Tau Strikeforce Bending Reed

I recently played my first game of "40K in 40 Minutes". One of the missions we played was "Battle at the Camp". I took the opportunity to assemble a 400 point mission team from my Dal'yth Sept hunter cadre.

Strategic Intelligence placed several hostile units of Gue'vessa on a recently acquired Third Sphere planet. The Tau's mission is to eliminate the Guard units hiding amongst the Tau's auxiliary relocation settlement.

Basic Tactics

This army relies on the Night Fighting rules to be in effect. Winning the scenario may be easier using the following tactics.

Fire Caste Warriors are deployed within range of the carbines. the job of this unit is to focus on an infantry squad. If possible, pin the unit to allow you to move your Firewarriors to where they are needed (12") can be a great distance if your opponent is pinned). The carbines let you move and fire 18" so take advantage of it. Remmeber, you want to keep your opponent from leaving the board.

The Stealth team's main job is to harass infantry squads. Here are large squads are preferred over smaller squads. In a pinch, you can take on light vehicles like Sentinels. Remember in Night Fight, your opponent's spotting distance is halved. That allows you to be safer at 18" with pop-in, pop-out attacks.

Each Crisis member's main job is to take out vehicles and tougher infantry. The gun drones may be able to cause some damage, but they are there to be removed. You only the team Leader has a Blacksun filter, so use him wisely. Keep him a little bit further back from your normal suit. Aftyer vehicles are taken out foucus on assisting other units in a support role. Keep using your mobility to move in, fire, and withdraw.
